Ocular Integration - Apprentice Security Engineer

Job Description
As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:
Work closely with our experienced engineers to support the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of security systems, including but not limited to: CCTV (Analogue & IP), Intruder Alarms & Access Control Systems.
Assist in performing scheduled preventative maintenance visits and responding to routine fault calls.
Develop your skills in diagnosing and resolving technical issues under the guidance of experienced engineers.
Assist in maintaining accurate service records and ensuring all customer documentation is up to date.
Ensure all tools, parts, equipment, and company vehicle are properly maintained, stocked, and ready for use.
Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and learning new technical skills in various environments.
Please note, that for the first year of the apprenticeship, this will be Apprentice Minimum Wage and will be reviewed after this time based on performance.
Entry Requirements
Must be aged 17+ and eligible to work in the UK.
Full UK driving licence.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science at grades 4 (C) or above.
Desirable GCSE grades but not essential: Design and Technology, Electronics, Engineering.
Interest in technology, electronics, or security systems.
Willingness to learn and commit to the full duration of the apprenticeship.
Good communication skills and a flexible, proactive attitude.
Must be able to achieve the relevant NPCC (National Police Chiefs’ Council) and SC (Security Clearance) vetting. (A clean criminal record and background history are essential due to the sensitive nature of some sites and clients).
Training to be Provided
This is where you'll learn the skills that employers actually want.
Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.
You’ll train through block release at our Doncaster centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).
You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.
